How the form supports a business decision
A data sheet becomes complex when the fields depend on each other, calculations must be made from the entered data, or the output is used by another system. The fields, value tables, formulas and exports presented on the EQForm product page provide a framework for such tasks. The first question of planning is what business result is to be produced.
Illustrative example: service request
On a fictitious request form, the user specifies a service, quantity and period. Which data is mandatory and which value table can be used for the calculation may depend on the chosen service. The example shows a design situation, not a ready-made template or customer reference. The actual fields and formulas must be defined for that introduction.
The rule should be clear
For each calculation, document the inputs, units, rounding rules and expected output. What should happen when a date is missing, a quantity is zero or a master-data record cannot be found? If these exceptions are decided only during use, identical situations may produce different results.
Changes can be checked from saved examples
EQForm supports change verification with saved inputs and expected results. When changing a rule, include boundary values, incomplete data and earlier cases whose results must remain unchanged. The person responsible for the business process defines the correct result; IT helps make the checks repeatable.
Assign responsibility for the export too
The report or the transferred data is useful if the receiving party understands the same thing by the fields. Record the identifiers, time periods, meaning of blank values, and required permissions. Even with a JSON or Excel export, you need to define who uses the output and how to handle discrepancies.
What should you bring to the first appointment?
Bring a current data sheet, the corresponding calculation rule, and some known correct results. Select the external data sources and the desired report.
